At times we may need to update the mobile number registered with our vehicle. This mobile number is basically linked with your vehicle registration certificate or RC.

The MINISTRY OF ROAD TRANSPORT & HIGHWAYS has made it easier to update your registered mobile online through their official website parivahan.gov.in.

Details required to update the mobile number registered with your vehicle

You need the following details of your vehicle to update the mobile number registered with your vehicle,

1. Vehicle Registration Number
2. Chassis Number (Full)
3. Engine Number(Full)
4. Registration Date
5. Registration/Fitness Valid Upto Date

Steps to update the mobile number registered with your vehicle online

To update your mobile number registered with your vehicle RC,

Step 1: Go to the official website of Parivahan

1. First, go to the official website of Parivahan at parivahan.gov.in
2. Next, go to the ‘Online Services’ option in the top menu.
3. Next, click on the ‘Vehicle Related Services’ option.
4. A new page will open up.

Step 2: Select your State and RTO

1. On the new page, you will be asked to select your state. Select it.
2. Another page will open up.
3. On that page, select your RTO from the drop-down list.
4. Next, click on the ‘Proceed’ button.
5. A popup will open. Scroll down and click on the ‘Ok’ button.
6. A new page will open up.

Step 3: Select the ‘Update Mobile Number’ option

1. Now on the new page, go to the ‘Services’ option on the main menu.
2. Next, go to the ‘Additional Services’ option.
3. Next, click on the ‘Update Mobile Number’ option.
4. A new page will open up.

(You can also select the ‘Mobile Number Update’ button displayed under ‘Online Services.’)

Step 4: Enter vehicle details

1. On this page, enter your Vehicle Registration Number and Chassis No. (Last 5 characters).
2. Next, click on the ‘Verify Details’ button.
3. Next, click on the ‘Aadhaar OTP’ option.
4. Next, select ‘Aadhaar Number’ or ‘Virtual Aadhaar ID’ based on what you want to enter.

Step 5: Verify Aadhaar number

1. Now, enter the Aadhaar Number in the specified field.
2. Next, tick the checkbox and click on the ‘Get OTP’ button. An OTP will be sent to the Aadhaar registered mobile number.
3. Enter it in the specified field and click on the ‘Validate OTP’ button.

Step 6: Update the registered mobile number

1. Next, enter your Vehicle Registration Number, Chassis No (Full), and Engine Number(Full).
2. Next, enter your Registration Date and Registration/Fitness Valid Upto Date.
3. Next, click on the ‘Show Details’ button.
4. The details of your vehicle along with the registered mobile number will be displayed.
5. Next, enter your Aadhaar Number, name and Aadhaar linked mobile number.
6. Next, tick on the checkbox and click on the ‘Save details’ button.

Your mobile number in yiur RC will be updated through the Parivahan portal.
